Type 2874NE Non-Elastomeric Outward Pumping Dry Gas Seal

Type 2874NE Non-Elastomeric Outward Pumping Dry Gas Seal

The Type 2874NE is the next generation in non-contacting mechanical seals utilizing the latest internally pressurized outward pumping spiral groove face technology for high-temperature process fluids. This innovative new design eliminates the problems associated with conventional wet contacting seals such as coking barrier fluids and fouled heat exchangers in hot applications.

Key features:

  • Unique advanced outward pumping spiral groove technology
  • State-of-the-art, sintered silicon carbide primary ring
  • Chemically inert static carbon graphite secondary seal
  • Arrangement inherently moves process liquid away from primary seal
  • Temperatures to 800° F / 425° C
  • API 682 / ISO 21049 qualified
  • Zero fugitive emissions

Full reverse pressure is a key design feature of the Type 2874NE and differentiates John Crane process pump gas seals from competitor's designs.

    High-Temperature Corrosion Resistant (HTC) Seal

The John Crane High-Temperature Corrosion Resistant Seal has unique advanced technology for reliably sealing fluids in high temperature corrosive environments, and at the same time, provides superior face stability. This All-Inconel® seal is ideally suited for applications that contain organic acids, broadly referred to as naphthenic acid, and sulfur compounds that attack most other alloys at high temperatures. The HTC seals feature specially designed seal faces and a thermally compliant primary ring adapter for exceptional seal face stability. Such exceptional face stability can result in reduced leakage and longer seal life.
